Hey, New Yorkers -
We are looking to hire someone to list items on our online store.
You would be responsible for:
- photographing items
- editing photos
- typing up detailed descriptions of each item
- listing items on our website
- that’s it - it’s really quite simple.
Just take a look at our website to see what’s involved.Ebay/Etsy/online store listing experience is a must. You will have to provide your own camera and laptop to work on. You should be able to take clear, crisp photos. You should exhibit excellent spelling and grammar skills.
This job can be done entirely on your time… so it’s perfect for a student or someone looking to pick up some extra cashola on the side. This is a pay-per-listing gig, so the more listings that you create, the more money you will make.
If you’re interested in the job, shoot an email to info@curethriftshop.com. Please provide samples of your work, links to your Etsy/Ebay page, photographs, and anything else that showcases your talents.
Wish i lived there, so I could do this :(

Nawal El Saadawi is an Egyptian feminist writer, activist, physician and psychiatrist. She has written many books on the subject of women in Islam, paying particular attention to the practice of female genital mutilation in her society.
In 1972 she published Al-Mar’a wa Al-Jins (Woman and Sex), confronting and contextualising various aggressions perpetrated against women’s bodies, including female circumcision, which became a foundational text of second-wave feminism. As a consequence of the book as well as her political activities, Saadawi was dismissed from her position at the Ministry of Health.
From 1979 to 1980 she was the United Nations Advisor for the Women’s Programme in Africa and the Middle East.
Long viewed as controversial and dangerous by the Egyptian government, Saadawi was imprisoned in September 1981, along with many other objectors to the Jerusalem Peace Treaty, by President Anwar al-Sadat. She was released later that year, one month after his assassination. Of her experience she wrote: “Danger has been a part of my life ever since I picked up a pen and wrote. Nothing is more perilous than truth in a world that lies.”
In 1988, when her life was threatened by Islamists and political persecution, Saadawi was forced to flee Egypt. She accepted an offer to teach at Duke University’s Asian and African Languages Department. In 1996, she moved back to Egypt.
She has continued her activism and considered running in the 2005 Egyptian presidential election, before stepping out due to stringent requirements for first-time candidates.
She was among the protesters in Tahrir Square in 2011. She has called for the abolition of religious instruction in the Egyptian schools.
Lord please hear me….
I need you so bad right now, but I can’t help but think you aren’t real. I want to believe so bad but things that shouldnt happen to me, do happen. and it brings me down to a level i never wanted to get to.
Maybe I don’t know how to pray right. If I am not praying right please send me someone that can teach me.
I am so confused right now. I just want you to send me somebody that gets me, that knows what i am going through, that can help me deal, that accepts me for me and for not what I do or don’t do.
Maybe I am just being pathetic but I don’t know what to do anymore.
Lord please hear me!!!

If you really knew me…
This is an amazing show on MTV about opening up ones mind to other people; by listening to their stories and relating each others stories to their lives to see how sometimes we aren’t so different after all. This show may be based in different high schools but this show is so true for any and everyone of any age. I think it is so important in high school because those are the years that really make you or break you. But we fail to realize that LIFE itself is so important and no matter where you are differences of the people around you will prevail; negatively or positively and it is up to US as people to make those differences prevail positively.
I wish the opportunity of ‘Challenge Day’ would have been available in high school.
My goal is to bring “If You Really Knew Me” or a challenge similar to it to Austin,TX and get a bunch of college students or people between the ages of 18-26yrs old together and have a successfull “Challenge Day”. I honestly think this type of challenge could possibly help prevent suicides, depressions, loneliness, and pain. This could be a great Suicide Prevention/Awareness Event or Love Yourself and Others Awareness Event.
IF YOU REALLY KNEW ME, YOU WOULD KNOW THAT…I went through high school pretending to be this completely happy person. Though it was true sometimes, it wasn’t true all the time. I spent too much time trying to be noticed that I missed out on true friendship because I wasn’t myself 30% of time while I was at school. I have grown up and realize that I have to be myself whether people like me or not.
IF YOU REALLY KNEW ME YOU WOULD KNOW THAT…Even though I am out of high school I sitll struggle with being myself and find tru friendship.
IF YOU REALLY KNEW ME YOU WOULD KNOW THAT…The only thing I have wanted was a true best friend. Since elementary school I have been pleasing everyone else while they let me down. All I wanted from people was their sincere care to be my friend without strings attached. All I wanted was for people to take time to really and truly get to know me. While everyone else was thinking about themselves I was thinking of others. Instead of giving up on them, I gave up on myself. Instead of hating them, I hated myself.
I want to prevent others around me from feeling that way because that is one of the worst feelings I have ever felt.
Who will join me in this challenge?
